Broad grey leaves with a shading of lavender and reddish 'armpits'. It developed a richer reddish colour when grown outside.
Raised by Kevin C. Vaughn in the USA and introduced in 1973. Horst Diehm said: "small to medium rosettes, grey-green - dark pike grey, some red tips, flower 15 cm" Erwin Geiger is quoted on Sempervivum List: "A pretty seedling of 'Silverine', whose large rosettes have a wide range of colours." Craigiehall Nursery say: "Large rosettes with a grey cast over a pale violet-green base and with dark leaf tips. One of the cooler colour mixes and very effective. The leaves also show nice watermarks in summer." |

Mountain Crest Gardens say: "A large rosette with silver-green leaves that flush pink to purple. Leaves are lined with cilia and its natural coating of epicuticular wax gives the appearance of wavy "watermarks". This cultivar is hybridized from S. 'Silverine' and makes a lovely contrast to all of the red and purple toned Sempervivum." |
