A moderate cultivar that swings between green and orange raised by David Ford in the UK and introduced in 1981. Horst Diehm said: "medium-sized, spherical rosettes, green, light red on the outside". Volkmar Schara is quoted on Sempervivum List: "A medium-sized variety that forms dense cushions and stands out for its coloration! A variety that deserves wide distribution." Erwin Geiger says: "A medium-sized variety that forms dense cushions and stands out for its coloration! A variety that deserves wide distribution." Sempervivums by Post say: "'Mystic' is a beauty. This is another great British sempervivum bred by David T. Ford in 1981. The striking rose-red and green colour combination works a treat in spring. It then changes colour during the summer to a lighter green surrounded by orange. A variety that really stands out from the crowd, always admired when seen "in the flesh"." |
