Sempervivum 'Nocturno'

A dense compact rosette that develops strong red colours. This cultivar was raised by Kayser and Siebert in Germany in 1965 but the name 'Nocturne' has been used for a form of S. marmoreum and is sometime translated as 'Nocturno'.

Horst Diehm said:

"medium-sized, black-green to dark purple-brown rosettes, with white glandular hairs at the edge, pink flower, 15 cm".

Erwin Geiger is quoted on Sempervivum List:

"I also received this plant under the name 'Topaz' and S. tectorum pyrenaicum. Attractive reddish-brown rosettes form compact cushions as they rarely bloom!"
