Sempervivum 'Pine Cone'

A vigorous cultivar with attractively marked imbricate leaves. Raised by Sue Thomas in the UK and introduced in 1999.

Erwin Geiger is quoted on Sempervivum List:

"The British variety is one of our favorites from Sue Thomas. The breeder has selected and named many terrific seedlings in recent years. Unfortunately, they could only be purchased in England and remained unknown in the rest of Europe. 'Pine Cone' forms medium-sized, light green rosettes that glow in a bright strawberry-red color in spring."
