Sempervivum 'Starshine'

A large growing lavender and red cultivar that turned brown when it was grown outside. Raised by Ed Skrocki in the USA and released in 1980.

Horst Diehm wrote:

"medium-sized to large rosettes, little green, middle fading into rosy brown"

Volkmar Schara is quoted on Sempervivum List:

"An incredible rosette coloring! A real eye-catcher and also very vigorous!"

Erwin Geiger says:

"In colors such as pink to carmine red and ochre in pastel shades, the pointed rosettes from the USA shine."

Mountain Crest Gardens say:

"Has peachy pink, satiny foliage that can show wavy watermarks from its natural wax coating. 'Starshine' produces a lot of offsets and can develop into a tall clump. In winter, it turns into a fuchsia showstopper in the garden."
