Sisyrinchium 'Holly'

Sisyrinchium is a marvellous crew of noisy drunkards that might sway along a seaside street late on a saturday night causing accidental chaos but who would be mortified and effusively apologetic at the suggestion that they might have disturbed anyone. They are all very jolly, it is difficult to be stern for long.
Much as I like them (Sisyrinchium and amiable drunks to be honest) I have to face the truth that they like warm, dry, sunny locations - the Sisyrinchium that is - where they can sprawl and loll about in reckless relaxation. My garden is cold and gloomy and not really suitable.

A small variegated Sisyrinchium, possibly a selection of S.angustifolium. I thought it was interesting enough to try in the Agave house. I took a few horrible pictures - this one with an out-of-focus flower is the best of the group - and a week later it was dead.
More water and more determination when it comes to pictures would have led to a better outcome.

I bought it from Choice Landscapes at an AGS show because it seemed to me that £3 wasn't much to pay for an absurd summer fantasy and let the devil take the consequences.
Their label says:

"New. Cream and green variegated sword-like leaves with terminal purple pink flowers with dark purple markings. Hardy. Grow in fertile free draining soil in sun."
