I like the variegated form. It is probably not as hardy as the green leaved form and it will certainly stay in
a pot for a year or two yet.The intention is always to root some more cuttings and plant the original out, but
things don't always go that smoothly.
Writing in the Journal of the RHS in 2013, Mathew Pottage said:
"Easy to please potato relative Solanum laxum 'Aureovariegatum' has creamy yellow-margined leaves, crowned with clusters of white flowers.
This climber lights up walls with its sunny foliage, making 3-8m (10-25 ft), but tolerates hard pruning should it outgrow its space."
