Sorbus gongashanica

In 2014 I was given a few seeds that germinated well and gave me a few saplings (after several years). I gave most of them away but planted one in the garden in 2021 where it established and has grown well. Eventually it should produce flowers and white fruits. It should be an apomictic species and so the seedlings should come true. I am waiting to see. There have been a couple of introductions of the species from China, I don't know which one this tree was derived from.

Plants of the World online says:

"The native range of this species is China (Sichuan). It is a tree and grows primarily in the temperate biome."

Hilliers Manual says

"A common species, often shrubby, in the mountains of W. Sichuan, China. Attractive in forming a fairly small plant up to 3m with a neat habit in cultivation. Leaves to 18cm long of 7 - 23 ovate leaflets, flowers large (over 10mm across) and abundant, white flushed pink, fruit, prominently veined on their 5 angles. W. China."

There's a problem to start with! Mine has entire leaves.
