A small growing species. I think it needs more moisture than I have been giving it so the plan for coming years is to rectify that.
Very pretty thing that seems to flower for months through the summer. I bought it from Aberconwy Nursery and their label says: "Enchanting Japanese woodlander with feathery lilac flowers from June - August in 10 - 15cm tufts. For humus rich soil in sun or part shade, where it runs gently. Good free flowering form." Plant Delights Nursery say: "Charming isn't good enough to describe this delightful miniature woodland meadow rue, Thalictrum kiusianum. The tiny deer-resistant clumps of maidenhair fern-like foliage form little rosettes to 6" tall. In early summer, the clumps of Thalictrum kiusianum are topped with airy, light purple flowers that rest just above the foliage. Here is a slowly-spreading gem for the woodland garden...you will absolutely LOVE IT!" |
