A Chinese species, the golden leaved form is a recent development. It seems to come true from seed. The Flora of China says: "Scrub margins, valley sides, slopes; 1600--3200 m. Gansu, Guizhou, Qinghai, W Sichuan, E Xizang, NW Yunnan. This species is used medicinally." The existence of the species is open to question, Plants of the World online doesn't acknowledge it and I can't find any other record of a golden leaved form. I have no idea where I got it from (records failure) and now it is dead. A series of unfortunate events. |
