The silver form of Tillandsia bergeri is greyer than my other form, but it also has more compact growth and a more upright habit. It hasn't yet been tried for its winter tolerrance here. I got it from Andys Air Plants and he says: "This lovely plant I belive is unique to my collection. It was gifted to me many years ago by a local plantsman Dr. Rob Senior. He told me he had collected it while on holiday in Peru. Wether he got it from the wild or a garden I do not know. Im calling it T. bergeri silver form as I do not know of another name for it. It has silver/grey leaves as opposed to the green leaves of the normal T. bergeri. The flower spikes seem identical to the species bergeri." |
