Tillandsia caerulea
24th October 2015
I keep returning to Tillandsia like a moth to a flame. They are so close to being hardy for me in a cold greenhouse that it is difficult to resist.
Given good conditions while they root and a couple of decent winters to establish, I am sure that many of the species would survive.
T. caerulea is very well adapted to an epiphytic life but comes from Peru and Ecuador, and not even at particularly high elevations.
Not the best match for a damp Cornish greenhouse but hope springs eternal.
