A bright golden foliaged form of the herbaceous Tradescantia. It isn't very vigorous with me and it burns very easily. In recent years Tradescantia x andersoniana
has been replaced as a name for the herbaceous Tradescantia cultivars with T. Andersoniana Group because the parentage of the group is complex and not fully resolved.
In their 2000 cataloge, Heronswood said:
"We are pleased to introduce this fine plant for Aubrey Barker of Hopley's Nursery in the UK, producing vigorous mounds of startling, golden yellow foliage,
perfect foil for a seemingly ceaseless progression of large, deep blue flowers. Quite fantastic and assuredly destined to become a garden classic,
for full sun or partial shade, we have used this in both conditions in our garden to good effect."
