A dark leaved White Clover with pink flowers. Very vigorous, I haven't tried it in a lawn yet. Raised by William Lyall. Rosemary Castle said in her 'Alternatives' catlogue for 2006: "A spontaneous cross between Martin's beautiful purple leaved cultivar T. repens 'Wheatfen' and the grey green T. repens 'Green Ice' (neither of which I currently have). The leaves are in ever-changing combinations of pink, plum purple, mahogany, smoky grey and green to name but a few. The flower heads are rich deep magenta. Vigorous. Sheer magic from William Lyall of Manor Nursery." Cotswold Garden Flowers say: "Maroon flowers, large maroon leaves shot like taffeta, darker at each end of the summer. Superlative ground in the border. Easy and very tasteful - ask a cow." |
