A delicious little tuft of slug sald on the day I bought it! Plants of the World online says: "The native range of this variety is E. & S. Qinghai to Central China. It is a perennial and grows primarily in the subalpine or subarctic biome. Selina Wamucii says: "Trollius farreri (also called 'Farrer's Globe Flower', among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to China and the Himalayas. It grows in moist meadows and grasslands, and can reach up to 0.5 m in height. Its leaves are divided into three leaflets and its flowers are yellow in color." The Flora of China says: "Grassy slopes; 3500--4700 m. S Gansu, E and S Qinghai, S Shaanxi, W Sichuan, NE Xizang, NW Yunnan." Very small growing, I was surprised how tough it was grown in a large pot under cover. I don't think it would have persisted in the open garden. |
