Tulipa wilsoniana is a small red flowered species from the mountains of Iran and although the taxonomy of tulips
is complex and still evolving rapidly I am adding to the nomenclatural chaos by including this name.
It is the same species as T.montana. The yellow form seems to have migrated in that direction while the red
remains here. I would have a go at sorting it out but I am senile enough to enjoy the nonsense of nomenclature
for a moment longer. Like bobble hats and long-johns, it is an acquired taste.
