A species with greenish flowers - this may not the real thing, online pictures show the corona should be larger and more annular.
I bought it at the AGS show, Exeter. The label reads: "Very distinct species with short fleshy creamy-yellow corona and even shorter green perianth segments paling to yellow at the margins. Delicately, sweetly scented late afternoon onwards. Glasshouse." The Pacific Bulb Society say: "found in stony soils in Namaqualand, the northwest and southwest Cape into the western Karoo. It has cream to greenish yellow flowers with a cream or brown corona. Height range: 15-25 cm." My best guess is that this is an open pollinated seedling from a plant in cultivation. |
