Tulbaghia violacea 'Alba'

This has been one of the best looking and least pleasantly smelling of the Tulbaghias I grow. Particularly pungent to collect seed from. I bought it from Mike Salmon at Monocot Nursery but I am not sure where the cultivar 'Alba' originated.

Beth Chatto's Plants and Gardens say:

"Above upright clusters of narrow strap-shaped leaves stand bare stems carrying allium-like heads of white, fragrant, flowers, which have hints of dusky pink, epecially when in bud, throughout summer until autumn. Will survive outside in a sheltered, sunny position in a well-drained soil, especially if topped with a protective mulch over winter. For those in colder areas pot up your clump to keep safe for winter."
