Typhonium is a large genus of tuberous aroids from asia.
This is one of the most appealing little aroids I have seen. I had little idea what to expect
when I got the tuber, so this was a wonderful surprise. When I first saw the leaf
I was worried that it was going to grow into a giant Sauromatum sort of beastie, but
it stopped at 6", and then flowered. I have it in the conservatory, so I am not sure how hardy it will be.
It grew so easily, that I hoped it would winter without problems if kept dry, but
unfortunately it was never seen again.
I was surprised to be able to replace the plant this summer, and I hope that I can keep
it alive this time.
