The first generation hybrid between Vanda falcata and Rhynchostylis coelestis registered by Ono Hajime in 1970. I am hoping for a moderately sized, cold tolerant orchid with blue flowers.
This one had just finished flowering when it arrived here so I will have to wait to see what I have got. It greww well in the greenhouse for a year but umnfortunately a severe (and not forecasted) radiation frost in December 2022 killed it. Krull Smith say: "Vandachostylis Lou Sneary is one of the most popular Vanda falcata hybrids of all time, and with good reason! Rhynchostylis coelestis brings with it a high flower count, an upright inflorescence, and fragrance. Vanda falcata helps this plant flower multiple times per year while adding to the fragrance and keeping this hybrid compact. This remake is giving us wonderfully light lavender flowers with higher that average flower counts. These plants will become covered in flowers as the mature and will make spectacular show plants.
