The only picture I have of Viburnum tinus 'French White'. During the 1980s I grew a number of clones of Viburnum tinus, many of which were never photographed
(film was relatively expensive). I don't remember where I got this rooted cutting but for a while it prospered in the front garden unrecorded.
I think I dug it out as unexceptional when I needed space, but memory is unreliable. Trees and Shrubs online says: Earlswood Garden Centre say: "Viburnum Tinus French White is a lovely medium sized evergreen shrub. It is a fast growing shrub with dark leaves and clusters of small flat white flowers during the late winter and early Spring followed by dark blue-black ornamental fruit. Flourishing in sun or partial shade, the shiny, dark green foliage provides a dense backdrop against which ornamental plants can easily be seen." |
