A pale pink selection raised from seed. It has spread to cover several square feet, so I think it will survive! I have unfortunately placed it under a tree
where the wood pigeons roost. There are times in the spring when it is as well to admire the pale splashes among the foliage from a distance, and assume they are flowers. I bought it from a garden centre and their label says: "A pale pink form of our native sweet violet with scented flowers from late winter to early spring. Ht 10-15cm, spread 30cm +, will grow in sun or partial shade." Dorset Perennials say: "Viola ‘Cordelia’ ( violet ). A lovely blush pink violet with a darker ‘horn’ and stronger rose shading on the reverse. Relatively large wide open flowers. Good scent." Roy Coombs says: "'Cordelia' (Dorothy Kimberley, Hereford, 1984; 'Coeur d'Alsace seedling). White flowers with a palest pink blush and a mushroom-pink spur on long stems. Highly scented." |
