A distinctively scented parma violet, they all have ugly shaped frowers, for which they have to be forgiven. The entire scent and cosmetics industry
is built on the premise that the ugly can be improved by a good scent, and I guess this is where they got the idea! I got it from Groves and their label says: "Light lavender-blue scented. Blooms longer than most Parmas." Roy Coombs says: "'Gloirs de Verdun'. The first references to this name are from the 1970s in France. Smaller mauve 85A flowers on shorter stems. Plants are somewhat more compact, offering possibilities as a flowering pot plant." |
