Rich pink, splashed with purple. Short stems keep the flowers low among the leaves. Raised in 1930, so it has stood the test of time. I bought it from Groves and their label says: "Lilac mauve flowers with pale blue shading and rose centres. Flowers are scented and short stemmed." Roy Coombs says: "'Opera' (c.1930). Lilac-maue with pale blue shading and rose centre 77B - 80A." Shire Plants say: "An old variety of violet dating from 1930 with fragrant rosy-lilac flowers with darker shading. Can look dark plum coloured." Violetsblew says on Plant Lust: "The flowers are on the small side, but their vibrant color make up for it in abundance. Lilac-mauve with blue shading and a rose center.
