Viola odorata 'Perle Rose'

	A sensational colour when it is newly opened, though it fades a bit. Not very vigorous, but sufficient to hold its own. I bought it from Groves and their label says: "Deep coral-rose coloured flowers. Scented. Compact flowers. Flowers late in the season." Roy coombs says: "'Perle Rose' (France, 1902: 'Rubra' seedling). Medium-sized flowers of an eyecatching deep coral-rose 64D. Compact habit. Probably the latest of the scented singles to flower, thereby usefully extending the season." Shire Plants say: "Slightly serrated heart-shaped foliage provides a lovely carpet of green for these single flowers to appear over. 'Perle Rose' has coral-pink blooms during spring. Very vigorous and free flowering. Perhaps later to flower than other violets."
