A bright orange-scarlet hybrid with fresh green leaves.
In the garden here it has been vigorous and reliable. I got it from Cath Sanderson at Caths Garden Plants in Lancashire, and she advises to "protect from frost". Her label says: "Striking back of border perennial with orangey-red flowers and uptight sword-shaped leaves. Flower spikes up to 90cm. Light well drained soil that does not ndry out in summer." In Peter Goldblatt's key it does not resolve very satisfactorily but it falls somewhere between W.angusta and W. fourcadei. |
