As with so many genera, Watsonia can be a little free with their affections if they are given the chance, so the big surprise with this hybrid is that
anyone feels confident enough to name the parents! I got it from Fir Tree Farm and I assume it was seed from cutivation, not colklkected in habitat.
Peter Goldblatt says:
"Watsonia knysnana is apparently related most closely to the orange-flowered W. pilansii which extends across the southern Cape to Natal Drakensberg.
Where the range of these two species at several sites between Knysna and East Longon, a series of intermediates can often be found.
