Yucca gloriosa 'Variegata'

There are a lot of variegated clones of Yucca gloriosa. This one has creamy white margins to the leaves. It has been in a pot for a very long time because I can't make up my mind where I should grow it.
True to the tragic history of Yucca gloriosa in the garden, this one died in its pot of prevarication.
There are a number of variegated forms of Yucca gloriosa in cultivation and their various names are neither clear nor consistent. However there seems to be general agreement that 'Variegata' has yellowish margins to the leaves though there is a broad and a narrow margined form, and one with streaks through the body of the leaf. Don't look too carefully, call it 'Variegata', smile winningly.

The Big Plant Nursery say:

"Yucca gloriosa ‘Variegata’ is a wonderfully variegated form of Yucca with stiff sward-shaped leaves – fabulously architectural. The leaves are a glaucous green maturing to dark green with cream-yellow margins and the charactaristic spikey tips.
Plant your Yucca in a sunny position in free draining soil or alternatively in a container. During summer a spectacular flower spike may emerge creating an elaborate display of creamy bell-shaped flowers.
An excellent addition to a coastal garden or exotic gardens. Be careful not to overwater. "
