A recent cultivar, raised by Fadjar Marta in Indonesia. Pictures I have seen show an apricot pink
flower - I seem to have lost the apricot! Plant Delights Nursery say: "Zephyranthes 'Batik' is a 2007 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction from Indonesian rain lily breeder, Fadjar Marta. Zephyranthes 'Batik' produces 6" stalks topped, starting in early July, with 2.5" apricot-colored flowers, highlighted by a yellow center, that age to pale pink. Each petal of Zephyranthes 'Batik' is highlighted with a suffused yellow stripe down the center...quite nice! When summer showers are plentiful, we get good rebloom all summer...rain not included." The Pacific Bulb Society say: "Zephyranthes 'Batik' is a hybrid made by Fadjar Marta of Indonesia. It has pinkish flowers with yellow centers and a faint yellow stripe along the middle of each petal." |
