Discovered in Greece in the 1870's, this was the first autumn flowering snowdrop to enter
cultivation. It arrived bearing a number of names and its taxonomic position has wobbled
like a nervous jelly at a food fight.
I can't grow it successfully outside. I get diminishing leaves without flowers so it was moved into the greenhouse
where it flowers at about the same time as the Nerine and causes a crisis of obsession
(which is possibly healthy).
