Hedychium horsfieldii

Another species from Java, growing as an epiphyte in forests, but certainly not hardy. I have seen an entire batch
of seedlings exterminated in a cold greenhouse, I have killed a flowering plant in a frost free house,
and now it takes refuge on the windowsill as soon as autumn starts to develop a chill.
Strange small greenish white flowers have very little impact, but they are followed by a profusion of bright
red fruits that make an impressive show.
