The blues - sometimes called 'slate' are very closely allied to black. They have the same neutral colour, but are much paler. The best of them are quite outstanding.
Last year (2007) was my first season with them - I had admired them in other gardens previously, but this was the first time I had been able to obtain good seedlings,
so I went rather wild, and bought a group of six for the garden. I am hoping that the seedlings will make it all worthwhile!
