There are a few cultivars of Kaempferia laotica that have been named. All of them have spectacular patterned leaves and rather ordinary lilac flowers (mine has yet to reach the dizzy
heights of flowering!)

It seems to continue to produce growth without ever increasing.

It spent the summer in the growing case this year because it was very slow to get going and the summer never seemed to heat up enough.
As a consequence it has managed to flower.
