A cultivar raised by Oswald Blumhardt from Whangarei in New Zealand with M. campbellii and M.liliflora in its ancestry. It has potential to grow into a moderate tree and the idea is to remove some of the Ash Trees
around it as it matures.

This has been the best of the small tree magnolias I planted in the garden, stasndingn up to the wind well and flowering well over a long period.
It took a knock during the summer when an Ash tree fell onto it but it should recover from the damage.
