There are a number of Puya species with the potential to be hardy. They are not particularly self fertile, so it was inevitable that hybrids would start to appear. They have the potential to be good garden plants. To be honest, this looks more like Puya mirabilis than anything else - the involvement of Puya laxa is evident so far only from the label. I got it from Stephen Mules at Lower Kenneggy Nursery. Unfortunately after flowering, the single rosette died without producing offsets. |

In 2024 I moved both P. laxa and P. mirabilis closer together in the Agave house with the potential to recreate this hybrid at some time.
